Rocky Mountain Radar Achieves “The Perfect Detector™”

April 01, 2003

With Addition of Intelli-Voice™ and Other Groundbreaking Technologies, New RMR-D250 Unit Delivers ‘Flawless’ Radar Detection at Competitive Price

EL PASO, TX – (April 1, 2003) – Rocky Mountain Radar, a leading provider of radar detection equipment for personal automotive use, has accomplished something no other detector manufacturer—despite decades of research and product development—has been able to achieve. Employing an arsenal of recent technologies exclusive to Rocky Mountain Radar, the new RMR-D250 radar detector has become The Perfect Detector™—able to spot virtually every type of radar in use today…instantly…with no false alarms…using breakthrough voice alerts that keep the driver’s eyes on the road.
“The RMR-D250 is quite simply the first perfect radar detector,” said Michael Churchman, Chief Executive Officer of Rocky Mountain Radar. “Not only does it pick up, without exception, every type of radar in use today, but also it does so with greater accuracy and convenience than any competitive product on the market today. The RMR-D250 has mastered small size, ease of use, and unparalleled reliability, all at a price that makes it the best value on the market today.”

Industry-Leading Features
Combining a full range of advanced and proprietary technologies, the RMR-D250 is a uniquely formidable detection product:
· Micro-Scan™ increases the typical scanning process by a factor of three, enabling the D250 to catch even Instant-On and POP radar;
· Smart-Scan™ improves the likelihood of pre-emptive readings by frequently revisiting frequencies where recent “hits” occurred.
· Intelli-Voice™ keeps the driver’s eyes on the road by instantly announcing radar use in a clear human voice. Intelli-Voice speaks the kind of radar being detected using phrases such as “K band”, “Ka band”, “X band”, “laser”, and “VG-2”; it also avoids needless repetition by declaring the frequency only once unless radar is not detected again within 60 seconds.
· Adaptive Laser Tracking™ automatically adjusts to laser background noise, further reducing false alarms.

The RMR-D250 detects any kind of radar (X, K, Ka, SuperWide, Pulse, Instant-On, POP, Photo) or laser radar (Pro-Laser, LTI, Laser-Lite) bands, as well as VG-2 “detector detectors”. It instantly senses the notorious Stalker KA-Band radar at a remarkable distance of 2.8 miles.
For added guidance, the RMR-D250 offers a signal strength indicator and digital readout that details the particular radar in use. The device communicates Safety Alert (SA) and Safety Warning System (SWS) signals, and offers a series of tones that can be set to replace voice alerts when desired. Invisible to VG-2 and VG-3 units, the RMR-D250 also offers a series of user-friendly onboard controls including mute, city/highway, and dim buttons.
“When the RMR-D250 goes off in its city mode, there is a 99.9% probability of police radar/laser in the area,” noted Churchman. “Without doubt, this unit is ‘The Perfect Detector’ for use in the U.S.A.”
